Still only 26, Depay is the type of complementary player Messi could benefit from playing alongside, without having the spotlight taken away. Because let’s be real: The spotlight will be on Messi as long as he’s there, even if it hinders a badly needed rebuild. As long as he’s around, a signing of Depay’s caliber would only help.
